Understanding Integrations in Strategy Overview

Learn how Strategy Overview connects with your PSA, documentation tools, and Office 365 to bring your client data into one place.

Updated over a week ago

Strategy Overview supports several types of integrations, each serving a different purpose:

  • PSA Integration: Syncs company, configuration, contact, and ticket data from your PSA. You can connect one PSA at a time. Supported PSAs include ConnectWise PSA, Datto Autotask, Halo PSA, Kaseya BMS, Syncro, and ServiceNow.

  • IT Glue: Syncs Configurations, Flexible Assets, Domains, and SSL Certificates from IT Glue. Can be used alongside a PSA or on its own as your source for technology data.

  • Office 365: Syncs Microsoft 365 user accounts, license assignments, and MFA status. Requires a separate connection for each client tenant.

  • Warranty Service: Looks up warranty and purchase date information for your hardware assets using serial numbers, then updates your records in Strategy Overview and optionally in your integrated apps (PSA, IT Glue).

One PSA at a time

You can only have one PSA integration active at a time. If you switch PSAs, you'll need to disconnect the old integration and set up the new one. Data integrations like IT Glue, Office 365, and the Warranty Service can all run independently or alongside your PSA.

What data syncs from your PSA

Your PSA is the source of truth for company data. When you change a company type, status, or market in your PSA, Strategy Overview picks up the change during the next sync. During initial setup, the "Create Unmapped" button can push new values from your PSA into Strategy Overview, but after that, manage these values in your PSA and let them flow into Strategy Overview.

Markets are only available through the ConnectWise integration. If your PSA doesn't support markets, you can manage them directly in Strategy Overview under Settings > General > Markets.

What data syncs from your data integrations

Data integrations bring in technology documentation, assets, and other data. You can use a data integration alongside your PSA, or on its own if you don't have a PSA connected.

What syncs from Office 365

The Office 365 integration connects to individual client tenants and syncs:

  • User accounts with their assigned licenses

  • License types and counts

  • MFA status for each user

Office 365 requires a separate connection for each client. See the Office 365 Integration article for setup details.

What syncs from the Warranty Service

The Warranty Service looks up warranty and purchase date information using serial numbers from your hardware assets. Supported manufacturers include HP, Lenovo, Dell, HPE, Acer, Asus, and Apple.

This integration can write data back to your integrated apps (PSA, IT Glue). You can choose whether to push updated Warranty Expiration Dates, Purchase Dates, and Manufacturer information back to your source records. See the Warranty Service Integration article for setup and configuration.

How sync works

Strategy Overview runs an automatic nightly sync that updates all your company, configuration, contact, and site data. No manual intervention is required.

If you need data updated immediately, you can use the Force Sync button in your integration settings. This adds your request to the sync queue and processes it as soon as possible. You can leave the page and continue working. Check the sync logs to verify completion.

Tickets sync differently. Ticket data comes in real time, not through the nightly sync. Strategy Overview doesn't store tickets in its database - it pulls them live from your PSA when they're viewed. Service board metadata (boards, priorities, statuses) is updated during the nightly sync.

What the nightly sync updates

The nightly sync updates the following data from your PSA:

  • Company: Name, website

  • Company Status: Name, default flag

  • Company Sites: Name, active status, primary status, address

  • Configurations: Status, type, purchase date, warranty expiration, serial number, OS type, notes, name, manufacturer, and any custom fields you've selected

  • Contacts: Name, type, title, email, phone, address, status, and any custom fields you've selected

IP allow list

If your PSA or data integration has IP restrictions, you'll need to whitelist the Strategy Overview IP addresses. The IPs depend on which datacenter your account is hosted in. You can check your datacenter under Settings > General > Company Information.

The full list of IPs is available in the IP Allow List article.
